Materials: wood fragment from the Teignmouth Electron (a 40 trimaran involved in a failed attempted to circumnavigate the earth solo without stopping from 1968-1969. The piece was retrieved from the boat, which is currently beached on the shore of Cayman Brac in the Caribbean on December 21, 2006), handmade life preserver: canvas, foam, and cotton, seaman’s jacket: felt and cotton, Mississippi silt in the shape of a blob with a hole in it, jug: paper mache and gold leaf, handmade saxophone strap: cotton, nylon, and brass & handmade pouch: vinyl on wooden shelf.
